There was no surprise in Vitoria where 16th ranked La ICL Manresa (1-5) was defeated by seventh ranked Baskonia (5-2) 82-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Baskonia. La ICL Manresa was better in third quarter 22-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. La ICL Manresa was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Slovenia guard Jaka Blazic (196-90) fired 17 points for the winners. Hungarian Adam Hanga (199-89, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. Four Baskonia players scored in double figures. American swingman Scott Suggs (197-89, college: Washington) produced 17 points and Italian-American forward Joe Trapani (203-88, college: Boston Coll.) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Baskonia moved-up to fourth place. La ICL Manresa lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with five games lost. Baskonia will face Valencia Basket (#5) on the road in the next round. La ICL Manresa will play against Andorra (#7) and hope to win that game.
