Regular Season Round 4: Proteas - Terpsithea 64-48

We should mention about the upset which took place in Voula, where 6th ranked Terpsithea (1-3) lost to ninth ranked Proteas (2-2) in a road game 48-64 on Sunday. Proteas dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Terpsithea's 36. Proteas forced 21 Terpsithea turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Terpsithea's players. The former international guard Angeliki Nikolopoulou (178-91) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Canadian-Serbian forward Stephany Skrba (188-87, college: Michigan) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Proteas' coach Ioannis Ktistakis used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Caila Desroches (193-88, college: Chicago St.) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and her fellow American import point guard Samaria Howard (170-94, college: Tenn Tech) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Proteas moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Terpsithea dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Proteas will face higher ranked Panathlitikos (#3) in Thessaloniki in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Terpsithea will play at home against Athinaikos (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
