Regular Season Round 14: Ryukyu GK - Osaka Evessa 85-86

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers Ryukyu GK (7-7) was edged by fourth ranked Osaka Evessa (7-7) in Okinawa 86-85 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 30-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Osaka Evessa's coach Dai Oketani used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Lamont Hamilton (208-84, college: St.John's) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and international guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-90) added 21 points and 4 assists in the effort for Ryukyu GK. Five Ryukyu GK players scored in double figures. Osaka Evessa moved-up to third place, which they share with Chiba Jets and Ryukyu GK. Ryukyu GK lost third consecutive game. Osaka Evessa will face Shiga L-Stars (#6) at home in the next round. Ryukyu GK will play against the league's second-placed Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
