Regular Season Round 5: AZS Koszalin - Asseco 69-72

Important game to mention about took place in Koszalin. Tenth ranked Asseco (3-2) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 14th ranked AZS Koszalin (1-4) 72-69 on Sunday evening. AZS Koszalin was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 19-15 charge of Asseco, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (178-84) who scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international forward Piotr Szczotka (196-81, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. American center Darrell Harris (205-84, college: Rhode Island) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import point guard Remon Nelson (175-90, college: FoKoPo) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. AZS Koszalin's coach Piotr Ignatowicz tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Asseco. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser AZS Koszalin keeps the fourteenth position with four games lost. Asseco will face Anwil (#12) in Wloclawek in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. AZS Koszalin will play on the road against TBV Start in Lublin and hope to win that game.
