Fifth defeat of Diamond Dolphins (9-5) against fifth ranked Kyoto Hannar. (6-8) 77-69 in overtime was the most important game of the last round. Diamond Dolphins were trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 20-19 charge of Kyoto Hannar., which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 13-5. 25 personal fouls committed by Diamond Dolphins helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Yusuke Okada (185-84) contributed with 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and Canadian center Jordan Bachynski (218-89, college: Arizona St.) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Diamond Dolphins. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kyoto Hannar. have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Sendai 89ers. Diamond Dolphins at the other side dropped to the second position with five games lost. They share it with Sanen. They were replaced at the leadership position by Tochigi Brex.
