Regular Season Round 8: Shmoolky W-wa - Start Lublin II 109-61

Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Shmoolky W-wa (4-4) rolled over 11th ranked Start Lublin II (1-6) in Warszawa 109-61 on Sunday. The game without a history. Shmoolky W-wa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Start Lublin II to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Shmoolky W-wa dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Start Lublin II's 24. Shmoolky W-wa forced 23 Start Lublin II turnovers and outrebounded them 46-20 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Shmoolky W-wa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. Daniel Olszewski (200-94) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. Pawel Lapinski (192-96) contributed with 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Shmoolky W-wa players scored in double figures. Guard Bartlomiej Pelczar (185-0) replied with 21 points and forward Wojciech Matysek (198-99) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Start Lublin II. Start Lublin II's coach Andrzej Dubielis gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Shmoolky W-wa moved-up to seventh place in Group B, which they share with AZS UJK Kielce and Ostrow Mazow. Loser Start Lublin II keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. Shmoolky W-wa will face Zubry (#12) in Bialystok in the next round where they are favorite. Start Lublin II will play at home against Ostrow Mazow. and hope to win that game.
