Regular Season Round 8: Przemysl - Pogon RS 64-69

Date: November 6, 2016
An interesting game was also tough home defeat of 8th ranked Przemysl in a game versus Pogon RS (#7) 69-64. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 16-7 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Pogon RS dominated on the defensive end, holding Przemysl to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They made 19-of-20 free shots (95.0 percent) during the game. Pogon RS forced 19 Przemysl turnovers. The winners were led by center Tomasz Stankala (202-91) who scored that evening 24 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Mateusz Pawlik (180-92) supported him with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Even 15 points and 8 rebounds by Artur Mikolajko (197-79) did not help to save the game for Przemysl. Grzegorz Plocica (190-80) added 16 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Przemysl's coach Maciej Milan tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Pogon RS (4-3) moved-up to fifth place in Group C, which they share with AZS KU PO and MCKiS Jaworz. Przemysl lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with MKS DG 2. Pogon RS will meet at home league's leader AZS PK in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Przemysl will play against the league's second-placed AZS AWF Mick. (#2) in Katowice and hope to secure a win.
