Regular Season Round 8: SKK Siedlce - Spojnia 74-75

The most exciting game of round 8 in the 1Liga took place in Siedlce. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked SKK Siedlce (4-4) to top-ranked Spojnia (8-0) 75-74 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-18. But SKK Siedlce won second period 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded SKK Siedlce 41-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Marcin Dymala (188-90) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Forward Hubert Pabian (200-89, agency: Promotex) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Rafal Krol (200-87) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Marcin Plawucki (177-89, agency: Promotex) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SKK Siedlce's coach Teohar Mollov tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Spojnia have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Sokol Lancut. SKK Siedlce at the other side keeps the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Spojnia is looking forward to face Polonia Leszno (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. SKK Siedlce will play against Kotwica in Kolobrzeg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
