Regular Season Round 8: AZS UJK Kielce - LKS MG13 Lodz 61-89

Rather expected game when 7th ranked AZS UJK Kielce (4-4) was smashed at home by fourth ranked LKS MG13 Lodz (6-2) 89-61 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by LKS MG13 Lodz. AZS UJK Kielce was better in fourth quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. LKS MG13 Lodz had a 31-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. Patryk Wal (197-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots). Jacek Gwardecki (199-94) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Guard Mateusz Druszcz (184-97) replied with 12 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Lukasz Fafara (193-84) added 9 points in the effort for AZS UJK Kielce. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. LKS MG13 Lodz have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position in Group B with 6-2 record. Newly promoted AZS UJK Kielce keeps the seventh place with four games lost. LKS MG13 Lodz will face Pro-Basket KT (#10) in Kutno in the next round where they are favorite. AZS UJK Kielce will play on the road against Tur Bielsk Pdl. in Bielsk Podlaski and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
