Regular Season Round 6: Espoo United - FoKoPo 75-77

Important game to mention about took place in Espoo. Sixth ranked Forssan Koripojat (4-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers Espoo United (4-3) 77-75 in the game for the third place. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Espoo United won fourth quarter 24-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American swingman Roderick Flemings (203-87, college: Hawaii) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Shamarr Bowden (196-89, college: E.Carolina) chipped in 22 points during the contest. Bowden is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American point guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) with 25 points and forward Lasse Gummerus (200-97) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Four Espoo United players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Forssan Koripojat moved-up to third place in Division. Forssan Koripojat will play against HBA-Marsky (#9) in Helsinki in the next round where they are favorite. Espoo United will have a break next round.
