There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Cecina (3-3) beat on the road 6th ranked Montecatiniterme (3-3) 86-69 on Sunday. Cecina made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Montecatiniterme turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Cecina especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for power forward Leonardo Salvadori (198-93, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Power forward Andrea Spera (203-96) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Four Cecina players scored in double figures. Swingman Nelson Rizzitiello (198-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and forward Marco Petrucci (195-92) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Montecatiniterme. Cecina moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 14 other teams including defeated Montecatiniterme. Cecina will face Sangiorgese (#10) in San Giorgio in the next round.
