Regular Season Round 6: Albacete - Granada 66-68

Date: November 6, 2016
A very interesting game took place in Albacete. It ended with only two-point home defeat of 10th ranked Albacete (2-4) to fourth ranked CB Granada (5-1) 68-66 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Albacete. Albacete was ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 20-12 charge of CB Granada, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was the former international center Jesus Fernandez (204-75) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. Croatia guard Ivan Milekovic (195-88) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four CB Granada players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Cuba forward Georvys Elias (199-81) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists and American guard Kris Davis (188, college: SIU Edwardsville, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 20 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. CB Granada have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Albacete keeps the tenth place with four games lost. CB Granada's next round opponent will be league's leader Cambados at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Albacete will play against Fontedoso Carrefour (#5) in Avila and hope to win that game.
