There was a minor upset when higher ranked Sangiorgese (3-3) was edged by eleventh ranked Siena Virtus (3-3) in San Giorgio 65-62 on Sunday. Siena Virtus forced 21 Sangiorgese turnovers. It was a good game for guard Ferdinando Nasello (194-95) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Center Lorenzo Bruno (198-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Forward Daniele Mario Benzoni (196-80) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Andrea Tommei (181-91) added 22 points in the effort for Sangiorgese. Sangiorgese's coach Massimo Padovano rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Siena Virtus moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 14 other teams including defeated Sangiorgese. Siena Virtus will face higher ranked Varese Robur (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
