Regular Season Round 8: Tarnovia - Trefl II Sopot 61-69

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Trefl II Sopot (2-5) beat higher ranked Tarnovia (3-4) in Tarnowo Podgorne 69-61 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 14 points at the halftime before their 46-24 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Trefl II Sopot forced 21 Tarnovia turnovers. Point guard Pawel Dzierzak (188-95) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Bartosz Majewski (188-97) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Rafal Milczynski (185-94) replied with 9 points and 6 rebounds and center Marcin Eichert (200-91) added 12 points in the effort for Tarnovia. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trefl II Sopot moved-up to tenth place in Group A. Newly promoted Tarnovia dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Trefl II Sopot will have a break next round.
