Regular Season Round 6: Nice - Flammes 68-80

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Flammes (4-2) beat on the road 9th ranked Nice (2-4) 80-68. It looked good early as Nice took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Flammes had a 20-14 second period charge getting the lead and Nice was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-80. Flammes shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The best player for the winners was international guard Amel Bouderra (160-89) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 assists. Ukrainian center Valeriya Berezhynska (193-86, college: Rice, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Five Flammes players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Victoria Macaulay (193-90, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and German forward Romy Baer (187-87) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Nice's coach Rachid Meziane rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Flammes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Nice at the other side dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Flammes' next round opponent will be Hainaut (#11) in Saint-Amand and are hoping to win another game. Nice will play at home against Villeneuve D'Ascq and hope to win that game.
