Regular Season Round 7: JAS FBG - AZS AJP GW 69-64

Very important is a road loss of second ranked AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (5-2) against eighth ranked JAS FBG (4-3) on Sunday night. Visiting AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski was defeated by JAS FBG in a tough game in Sosnowiec 64-69. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-11. But AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski won second period 22-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American point guard Ketia Swanier (170-86, college: Connecticut) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Her fellow American import center Nicole Michael (188-87, college: Syracuse, agency: Two Points) helped adding 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Four JAS FBG players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Courtney Hurt (185-90, college: VCU) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocks and the former international point guard Katarzyna Dzwigalska (174-85) scored 5 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. JAS FBG moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Artego Bydg. and CCC Polkowice. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. JAS FBG will play against Artego Bydg. (#7) in Bydgoszcz in the next round. AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski will play on the road against MKK Siedlce (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
