Regular Season Round 6: Medvescak - Tresnjevka 97-36

The most important game of round 6 took place in Zagreb between two undefeated teams where ZKK Medvescak crushed Tresnjevka (5-1) 97-36 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Tresnjevka. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. ZKK Medvescak led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Tresnjevka to an opponent 24.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 45.7 percent accuracy of the winners. ZKK Medvescak forced 40 Tresnjevka turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Tresnjevka's players. Guard Iva Borovic (170-88) scored 36 points (!!!) to lead the charge for the winners and Anja Majstorovic (184-94) chipped in 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Ana Lelas (183-83) with 14 points and 9 rebounds and center Josipa Pavic (187-99) scored 6 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ZKK Medvescak (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion (5-0) keeps a position of league leader. Tresnjevka at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Medvescak. Tresnjevka will play next round against Ragusa trying to make it back to the top of the standings. ZKK Medvescak will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked ZKK Split on the road.
