Regular Season Round 3: Kashan - Shiraz a.s Pipe 79-77

A very interesting game took place in Kashan. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of Shiraz a.s Pipe (0-3) to Kashan (2-1) 79-77 on Monday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Shiraz a.s Pipe was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Shiraz a.s Pipe 46-34 including 21 on the offensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Shiraz a.s Pipe helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Serbian forward Vladimir Mijovic (207-84, agency: Promotex) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds. The former international center Masoud Soleimani (207) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Five Kashan players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Saman Taherpour (203-91) who recorded 22 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Reza Ranjbar added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Shiraz a.s Pipe's coach Mehdi Davanizadeh rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kashan's next round opponent will be Azad in Tehran and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shiraz a.s Pipe will play at home against Arak (#3) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
