The game in Tehran was also quite interesting. Petrochimi (3-0) played at the court of Army (0-2). Petrochimi defeated Army 94-78 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Petrochimi. Army managed to win fourth quarter 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman James White (201-82, college: Cincinnati, agency: Three Eye Sports) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import point guard Gerald Robinson (185-89, college: Georgia) accounted for 20 points and 4 assists for the winning side. The former international Arsalan Kazemi (200-90, college: Oregon) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and the former international Vahid Dalirzahan (199-95) added 16 points respectively for Army in the defeat. Four Petrochimi and five Army players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Petrochimi will meet at home Tabriz (#5) in the next round. Army will play against Shahrdari Gorgan and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
