The game in Thessaloniki was also worth to mention about. Leader Olympiacos (5-0) played at the court of 6th ranked Aris (2-3). Olympiacos managed to secure a 7-point victory 70-63. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Aris won third quarter 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international Vassilis Spanoulis (193-82, agency: BeoBasket) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 assists. Canadian center Khem Birch (208-92, college: UNLV) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Serbian power forward Tadija Dragicevic (206-86) answered with 18 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Will Cummings (188-92, college: Temple) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Aris. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Olympiacos. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with AEK Athens. Aris at the other side keeps the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Olympiacos will play against Apollon Patras (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aris will play against Koroivos (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
