Regular Season Round 8: Boras - Uppsala 78-66

The most important game in the last round took place in Boras between third ranked Uppsala Basket (3-2) and fourth ranked Boras Basket (4-3) on Tuesday night. Uppsala Basket was defeated by Boras Basket on the road 78-66. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 44-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Boras Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard James Washington (182-87, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who scored 21 points and 6 assists. Icelandic point guard Jakob Sigurdarson (192-82, college: Birm.Southern) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists. The former international point guard Andreas Person (190-91) produced 22 points and swingman Axel Nordstrom (193-91) added 5 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boras Basket moved-up to third place, which they share with Norrkoping. Uppsala Basket at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Boras Basket is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Malbas (#9) in Malmo in the next round where they are favorite. Uppsala Basket will play at home against Nassjo (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
