Regular Season Round 8: BC Lulea - Malbas 86-77

Leader BC Lulea delivered the sixth victory. This time they beat bottom-ranked Malbas (0-7) 86-77. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-20. But Malbas won second period 24-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Lulea forced 20 Malbas turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Canadian forward Yannick Anzuluni (205-87, college: Houghton) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Adam Ronnqvist (181-90) contributed with 21 points and 6 assists for the winners. The former international center Joakim Kjellbom (212-79, college: N.Arizona) replied with 29 points and forward Fredrik Larsson (201-93) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Malbas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BC Lulea have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-1 record. Malbas at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. BC Lulea will play against KFUM Jamtland (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Malbas will play against Boras Basket and hope to get finally their first victory.
