Regular Season Round 1: Pinheiros - B.Cearense 80-74

The most surprising game was a loss of SKY/Basquete (0-1) in Sao Paolo on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Pinheiros (1-1) 80-74. American guard Desmond Holloway (191-90, college: Co.Carolina) stepped up and scored 28 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and center Ralfi Ansaloni (211-87) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Pinheiros players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international point guard David Rossetto (180-93) responded with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international forward Marcus Vinicius Toledo (201-86) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. SKY/Basquete's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pinheiros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. SKY/Basquete will play on the road against Rio Claro (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
