Undefeated leader Helsinki Seagulls delivered the seventh consecutive victory. This time they beat 5th ranked Kauhajoen Karhu (4-5) 77-72. The hosts were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 27-21 run, which allowed them to win the game. The former international point guard Antto Nikkarinen (185-91, agency: Blacktop Management) contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American forward Kammeon Holsey (203-90, college: Georgia Tech) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio, agency: Mansfield and Associates) added 21 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Kauhajoen Karhu. Helsinki Seagulls (7-0) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. Kauhajoen Karhu at the other side dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Helsinki Seagulls will play against BC Nokia (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Kauhajoen Karhu will play against the league's second-placed Joensuun Kataja and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
