Regular Season Round 7: Avila - Albacete 75-63

Date: November 9, 2016
Very expected game in Avila where 11th ranked Albacete (2-5) was defeated by fifth ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (5-2) 75-63. It looked good early as Albacete took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Fontedoso Carrefour had a 23-15 second period charge getting the lead and Albacete was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-75. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Connor Beranek (198-94, college: Nebraska-Kearney, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds. Serbian center Nikola Vujovic (210-93, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Fontedoso Carrefour players scored in double figures. American guard Kris Davis (188, college: SIU Edwardsville, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) answered with 15 points and Cuba forward Georvys Elias (199-81) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Albacete. Albacete's coach Alfredo Galvez let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Fontedoso Carrefour moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Albacete keeps the eleventh position with five games lost. Fontedoso Carrefour's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Cambados on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Albacete will play against Alcazar (#8) and hope to win that game.
