Regular Season Round 7: Olimpia - Victoria 90-47

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Grodno: Olimpia GrGAU (#3) and Victoria (#5). Olimpia GrGAU (4-1) crushed visiting Victoria (2-4) by 43 points 90-47. The game without a history. Olimpia GrGAU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Victoria's 28 and made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Olimpia GrGAU forced 21 Victoria turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Victoria's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Tatsiana Dashkevich (178-89) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds. Maryia Rashchenia (185-92) contributed with 8 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Yuliya Vasilevich (164-1) answered with 11 points and forward Mariya Kryzhanouskaya (181-99) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Victoria. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olimpia GrGAU maintains third place with 4-1 record behind leader Gorizont. Victoria at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. Olimpia GrGAU are looking forward to face Sozh-GGU (#4) in Gomel in the next round. Victoria will play on the road against the league's second-placed Tsmoki-Minsk and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
