Regular Season Round 7: Sozh-GGU - Gorizont II 71-50

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Sozh-GGU (3-2) crushed 6th ranked Gorizont II (1-6) in Gomel 71-50. The game without a history. Sozh-GGU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Sozh-GGU forced 23 Gorizont II turnovers. It was a great evening for center Tatsiana Rebianchuk (186-88) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Marina Rakovskaia (173-92) helped adding 13 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. At the losing side forward Daryna Bachkarova (182-0) responded with 14 points (made all of her eight free throws) and Irina Durmanova (-1) scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sozh-GGU maintains fourth place with 3-2 record. Gorizont II at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Sozh-GGU will play against higher ranked Olimpia GrGAU (#3) in Grodno in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gorizont II will have a break next round.
