Regular Season Round 7: HBA-Marsky - FoKoPo 85-93 OT

HBA-Marsky (#9) forced the game against Forssan Koripojat (#3) into an overtime, but lost by eight points 85-93. The game took place in Helsinki. But the guests from Forssa were better at the end. The guests were already 15 points ahead at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 29-12 last quarter charge of HBA-Marsky tied the game, but they lost it eventually overtime period 6-14. Forssan Koripojat brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by HBA-Marsky helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Bruce Reed (202-90, college: Pikeville) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Swingman Teemu Sulonen (188-94) contributed with 28 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Reed is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Point guard Lassi Nikkarinen (184-97) answered with 24 points and point guard Edon Maxhuni (183-98) added 25 points in the effort for HBA-Marsky. HBA-Marsky's coach Antti Koskelainen let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Forssan Koripojat maintains third place in Division with 5-3 record having just one point less than leader PuHu Juniorit. HBA-Marsky at the other side dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Forssan Koripojat's next round opponent will be Jarvenpaa (#7) on the road. HBA-Marsky will play against Porvoon Tarmo and hope to win that game.
