Regular Season Round 9: Trefl II Sopot - Gniezno 72-49

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Gniezno (4-5) was rolled over on the road by tenth ranked Trefl II Sopot (3-5) 72-49 on Friday. Trefl II Sopot forced 26 Gniezno turnovers. Point guard Pawel Dzierzak (188-95) stepped up and scored 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and guard Bartosz Majewski (188-97) chipped in 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was center Szymon Budnikowski (200-84) with 9 points and 13 rebounds and power forward Marek Sobkowiak (200-86) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Trefl II Sopot moved-up to ninth place in Group A, which they share with Tarnovia. Loser Gniezno keeps the eighth position with five games lost. Trefl II Sopot will face AZS PP (#11) in Poznan in the next round.
