Regular Season Round 5: Tianjin GL - Beijing D. 109-114

Round 5 most important game was a victory of Beijing Ducks over 6th ranked TianJin Steel 114-109 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of TianJin Steel. Beijing Ducks shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 assists. The former international Yue Sun (206-85) contributed with 21 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American forward Jeremy Tyler (208-91, college: Louisville) answered with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 18-of-22 shooting from the field) and Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) added 19 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for TianJin Steel. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Beijing Ducks have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Liaoning H. and Guangsha L. TianJin Steel at the other side keeps the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Beijing Ducks is looking forward to face Shanxi Zhongyu (#13) in Taiyuan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TianJin Steel will play at home against North Control (#16) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
