Regular Season Round 8: Hyeres-Toulon - Pau-Lacq-Orthez 85-70

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (6-2) against eighth ranked Hyeres-Toulon (4-4) on Friday night. Visiting Pau-Lacq-Orthez was defeated by Hyeres-Toulon in Toulon 85-70. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Pau-Lacq-Orthez. The game without a history. Hyeres-Toulon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of William Howard (201-93) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds and point guard David Michineau (191-94) who added 13 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four Hyeres-Toulon players scored in double figures. American point guard D.J. Cooper (183-90, college: Ohio) responded with 8 points and 10 assists and naturalized Congolese Jean-Michel Mipoka (198-85) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hyeres-Toulon have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Pau-Lacq-Orthez at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Chalon and Nanterre. Hyeres-Toulon will play against league's second-placed Chalon/Saor at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play against Olympique Antibes and hopes to get back on the winning track.
