Regular Season Round 9: Wisla Krakow - Rybnik 67-60

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Wisla Krakow (2-7) won against at home 4th placed Rybnik (5-3) 67-60 on Friday. Wisla Krakow forced 21 Rybnik turnovers. Strangely Rybnik outrebounded Wisla Krakow 44-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Wisla Krakow made 7 blocks. Power forward Jakub Zaczek (204-96) stepped up and scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and point guard Jakub Natkaniec (183-97) chipped in 15 points. The best for the losing side was forward Krzysztof Zielinski (192-82) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and forward Adam Bialdyga (198-87) scored 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Wisla Krakow maintains thirteenth place in Group C with 2-7 record. Newly promoted Rybnik dropped to the third position with three games lost. Wisla Krakow will face higher ranked AZS PS Gliwice (#10) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rybnik will play against Polonia Bytom (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
