Regular Season Round 7: CFBB - Aulnoye 80-70

CFBB has finally registered their first victory this season after six consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Aulnoye (2-5) 80-70. It looked good early as Aulnoye took a 11-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then CFBB took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 10 points. They made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. CFBB forced 22 Aulnoye turnovers. It was a great shooting night for CFBB especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Tima Pouye (176-99) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Emmanuelle Tahane (180-99) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. Point guard Clementine Morateur (176-95) came up with 17 points and naturalized DR Congolese forward Lorraine Lokoka (184-89) added 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Aulnoye in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CFBB (1-6) left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place, which they share with Limoges. Aulnoye at the other side dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Dunkerque and Roannais. CFBB will play against higher ranked Arras (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aulnoye will play against Toulouse (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
