TBL top team - Twarde Pierniki (6-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat eighth ranked Polpharma (3-3) in Torun 86-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Polpharma. Twarde Pierniki made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Polpharma turnovers. Polpharma was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international Lukasz Wisniewski (186-84, college: Barton Co. CC, agency: Promotex) scored 14 points, 6 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and American-Hungarian point guard Obadiah Trotter (188-84, college: Alabama A&M) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) during the contest. Five Twarde Pierniki players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Lithuania center Martynas Sajus (208-96) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American point guard Anthony Miles (185-89, college: Lamar) scored 18 points. Polpharma's coach Mindaugas Budzinauskas rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Twarde Pierniki have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Polpharma at the other side dropped to the ninth place with three games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. Twarde Pierniki will play against Wilki Morskie (#7) in Szczecin in the next round where they are favorite. Polpharma will play at home against Stabill and hopes to get back on the winning track.
