Regular Season Round 1: Aisin AW - Tokyo Big Blue 81-74

Not a big story in a game in Aichi where Tokyo Big Blue (0-3) was defeated by Aisin AW (3-0) 81-74. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Tokyo Big Blue won fourth quarter 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aisin AW forced 21 Tokyo Big Blue turnovers. It was a very good performance for guard Kyouhei Kumazawa (180-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. Point guard Kei Kato (172-93) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Kengo Funabashi (-93) answered with 12 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Ryota Ito (178-92) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo Big Blue. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tokyo Big Blue's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Aisin AW's next round opponent will be Tokyo Cinq R. (#4) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tokyo Big Blue's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Tokyo HT.
