Regular Season Round 7: Contern - Amicale 77-95

The biggest surprise of round 7 in Total League took place in Luxembourg where guest Amicale (#1) beat lower ranked Contern (#2) by 18 points 95-77 on Saturday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Amicale had a 38-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international power forward Billy McDaniel (199-84, college: Ark.-Monticello, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) fired a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international Samy Picard (195-88) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. Four Amicale players scored in double figures. American swingman Manny Atkins (198-91, college: Georgia St.) produced 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Jesse Morgan (196-91, college: Temple) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Amicale (6-1) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place. Contern at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Etzella and Musel Pikes. Amicale are looking forward to face league's second-placed Musel Pikes in Stadrbredimus in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Contern will play on the road against Arantia in Larochette and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
