Regular Season Round 8: Quintanar - Torrelodones 97-70

Date: November 12, 2016
Very expected game when 12th ranked Torrelodones (2-5) was crushed on the road by sixth ranked Quintanar (5-2) 97-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Quintanar. Torrelodones was better in third quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game, while Torrelodones only scored five points from the stripe. They outrebounded Torrelodones 38-21 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quintanar looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Torrelodones' players. Torrelodones was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Chadian center Placide Nakidjim (205-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds and American forward Anthony Freeman (203-91, college: Union, TN) who added 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Serbian center Almir Hadzisehovic (203-92, college: Alaska-Fairb.) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and guard Pedro Robles (192-77) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Quintanar moved-up to fifth place in Group B. Torrelodones lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with five games lost.
