Very predictable result in Hitachinaka where leader Toyota A. (11-0) smashed 9th ranked Hitachi Cougars (2-9) 78-50. The game without a history. Toyota A. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hitachi Cougars to just 7 points in first quarter. Toyota A. dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Hitachi Cougars' 22 and made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Hitachi Cougars 45-33 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for the former international point guard Emi Kudeken (165-84) who helped to win the game recording 5 points and 8 assists. Guard Saki Mizushima (171-91) contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Toyota A. players scored in double figures. Swingman Ishiguro Mutsumi (175-92) answered with 13 points and swingman Elina Sugawara (177-93) added 4 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Hitachi Cougars. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Toyota A.. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with JX-Eneos S. Hitachi Cougars lost their ninth game in a row. They dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. Toyota A. will have a break next round. Hitachi Cougars will play again at home against the league's second-placed Toyota A. (#2) and hope to win that game.
