Regular Season Round 8: Berazategui - Obras 63-74
Date: November 12, 2016
The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Buenos Aires: Obras (#4) and Berazategui (#5). Berazategui was defeated at home 63-74 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by Obras. Berazategui managed to win fourth quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Berazategui 55-27 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by Berazategui helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of international power forward Sofia Aispurua (189-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and international forward Paula Reggiardo (183-84, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Obras players scored in double figures. Cuba center Marlenis Cepeda (193-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and the former international guard Sofia Castillo (175-88) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Obras (7-3) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Lanus. Berazategui lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Obras is looking forward to face Union Florida (#4) on the road in the next round. Berazategui will have a break next round.
