The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked Tenerife Naut.'s (6-1) home victory over 4th ranked Azuqueca (5-3) 99-63 on Saturday. The game without a history. Tenerife Naut. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Azuqueca's 30 and made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Tenerife Naut. forced 22 Azuqueca turnovers and outrebounded them 36-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Azuqueca was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Ayoze Alonso (187-91) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 5 rebounds and guard Roberto de la Rosa (193-85) who added 14 points during the contest. Four Tenerife Naut. players scored in double figures. Point guard Carlos Calvo (178-94) responded with 9 points and 6 assists and Venezuela forward Luis Valera (202-88, college: UTRGV, agency: Duran International) scored 15 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tenerife Naut. have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group B. Loser Azuqueca dropped to the sixth position with three games lost.
