Regular Season Round 8: Utrera - Plasencia 71-68

There was a minor upset when one of their biggest challengers Plasencia (3-3) was edged on the road by sixth ranked Utrera (3-3) 71-68 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Plasencia won third quarter 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Utrera forced 22 Plasencia turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward David Atkinson (201-91, college: Salem Intern.) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and guard Juan Toledo (190-96) who added 11 points and 4 assists during the contest. Polish-Canadian forward Shawn Hill (193-92, college: Lambton, agency: Dynamics Global Management) responded with 20 points and center Luis Garcia (202-90) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Plasencia players scored in double figures. Utrera moved-up to fourth place in Group D-B, which they share with Plasencia and San Juan.
