Regular Season Round 7: Roannais - Avenir 41-55

LF2 top team - Avenir (6-1) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat ninth ranked Roannais (2-5) 55-41. The game was mostly controlled by Avenir. Roannais managed to win fourth quarter 11-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Avenir dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Roannais' 20. Avenir forced 19 Roannais turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Avenir made 8 blocks. American forward Tiffany Clarke (183-91, college: Vanderbilt) fired 26 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Magali Mendy (178-90) chipped in 8 points and 8 rebounds. Laetitia Guapo (180-95) produced 7 points and 10 rebounds and forward Jessica Clemencon (190-89) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Avenir have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-1 record, which they share with Roche. Roannais lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Dunkerque and Aulnoye. Avenir will meet at home COB Calais (#4) in the next round. Roannais will play against SIG (#8) in llkirch-Graff. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
