There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Echague (3-13) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Libertad Sunchales (4-9) 84-74 on Saturday. Libertad Sunchales made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for international point guard Juan Brussino (185-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 6 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American-FYR Macedonia forward Jeremiah Massey (202-82, college: Kansas St.) helped adding 15 points and 10 rebounds. Five Libertad Sunchales players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Brandon Davis (198-88, college: Lamar, agency: Pro Sports) with 27 points and 6 rebounds and Dominican guard Gelvis Solano (185-94, college: Merrimack) scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Echague's coach Ricardo Daniel Maffei tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Libertad Sunchales moved-up to eighth place in Norte. Echague lost thirteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Libertad Sunchales will face league's second-placed Quimsa in Santiado Estero in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Echague will play at home against the league's second-placed Quimsa (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
