Regular Season Round 9: Breogan - Castello 82-65

Very expected game in Lugo where 15th ranked Castello (2-6) was defeated by fourth ranked Leche Rio Breogan (7-2) 82-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Leche Rio Breogan. Castello was better in third quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Leche Rio Breogan forced 21 Castello turnovers and outrebounded them 44-25 including 19 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Danish forward Jonathan Gilling (203-91, college: Arizona St.) who scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Josep Franch (193-91) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Four Leche Rio Breogan players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Maodo Nguirane (210-93) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and forward Sergio Rodriguez (195-93) added 7 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leche Rio Breogan have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Castello lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth place with six games lost. Leche Rio Breogan will face league's second-placed Gipuzkoa in San Sebastian in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Castello will play at home against Oviedo CB (#7) and hope to win that game.
