Regular Season Round 8: Real Canoe - La Roda 82-66

There was a change at the EBA leadership position after last games. Round 8 most important game was a defeat of league's leader La Roda (6-2). They were defeated by second ranked Real Canoe (7-1) 82-66 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in Group B. The game was mostly controlled by Real Canoe. La Roda managed to win second period 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Ander Martinez (199-95, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and center Pablo Rodrigo (204-86) who added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Real Canoe players scored in double figures. Real Canoe's coach Miguel Angel Aranzabal used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Senegalese power forward Michel Diouf (208-90) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American guard DeAngelo Hailey (190-90, college: NW Missouri St.) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Real Canoe have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group B leader. La Roda at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Real Madrid II. They were replaced at the leadership position by Leon.
