There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Cartagena (1-5) defeated at home second-ranked UCAM Murcia II (5-1) 66-62 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 4 points. Cartagena outrebounded UCAM Murcia II 41-27 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Tylor Wimbish (201-93, college: Mo.-St.Louis) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds and the other American import guard Jared Grady (190-89, college: Indianapolis) who added 17 points during the contest. Cartagena's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Center Sergio Mendiola (207-96) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Jose Ortega (188-97) scored 18 points. Cartagena left bottom position moving up to eighth place in Group E, which they share with L Alfas. Loser UCAM Murcia II keeps the second position with one game lost.
