Regular Season Round 9: Eskilstuna - Trelleborg 118-76

Date: November 12, 2016
Rather expected game when 6th ranked Trelleborg (3-2) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Eskilstuna (6-1) 118-76 on Saturday. Eskilstuna forced 23 Trelleborg turnovers and outrebounded them 52-25 including a 30-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Eskilstuna shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 58.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Trelleborg's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Eskilstuna made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was British-Cameroonian forward Franck Kouagnia (201-89) who had a triple-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Ramon Mirianidis chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Eskilstuna's coach Steven Hopkins felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Anis Ben Hamida (195-90) who recorded 23 points and 6 rebounds and guard Papy Ndiaye (187-94) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Five Eskilstuna and four Trelleborg players scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Eskilstuna. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Koping. Loser Trelleborg keeps the sixth position with two games lost. Eskilstuna will face Helsingborg (#8) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Trelleborg will play against Hoganas and hope to win that game.
