Regular Season Round 7: Roma Luiss - Viterbo SA 74-51

Very expected game when 13th ranked Viterbo SA (2-5) was crushed on the road by fifth ranked Roma Luiss (5-2) 74-51 on Saturday. Roma Luiss dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Viterbo SA's 22. They outrebounded Viterbo SA 42-21 including a 30-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. Roma Luiss looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Viterbo SA's players. It was a great evening for center Eugenio Beretta (206-96) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Piero De Dominicis (193-95) helped adding 10 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side naturalized Polish power forward Sandro Listwon (204-93) responded with 9 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Fabio Marcante (196-80) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Roma Luiss moved-up to second place in B, which they share with Bergamo and Faenza. Loser Viterbo SA dropped to the fourteenth position with five games lost. Roma Luiss will face Patti (#13) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Viterbo SA will play against the league's second-placed Cassino and hope to win that game.
