Regular Season Round 9: Iskra Svit - Nitra 84-76

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Nitra (1-8) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Iskra Svit (6-4) 84-76 on Saturday. Croatia forward Sasa Jankovic (204-84) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and American point guard Evan Singletary (185-94, college: Albany) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. Four Iskra Svit players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Canadian guard Juevol Myles (185-89, college: S.Dakota) with 27 points and center Adam Stefek (207-93) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Nitra's coach Peter Seman rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Iskra Svit have a solid series of three victories in a row. Despite that victory Iskra Svit went down to fifth position due to points difference. Loser Nitra keeps the tenth place with eight games lost. Iskra Svit will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nitra will play against Nova Ves (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
