There was a minor upset when higher ranked Volpino AltoSeb. (3-4) was crushed at home by fourteenth ranked Piacenza (3-4) 98-71 on Saturday. Piacenza held Volpino AltoSeb. to an opponent 13.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 49.3 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Volpino AltoSeb. 42-23 including 31 on the defensive glass. Volpino AltoSeb. was plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for power forward Diego Banti (206-83, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Mattia Magrini (190-93) helped adding 19 points and 4 assists. Five Piacenza players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Simone Centanni (185-91, agency: Interperformances) responded with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and center Silvio Stanzani (207-96) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Piacenza moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with 6 other teams including defeated Volpino AltoSeb. Volpino AltoSeb. lost third consecutive game. Piacenza will face league's leader Orzinuovi GaGa at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
